As part of her Corporate Social Responsibility Moni Pulo Limited, an indigenous exploration and production company based in Port Harcourt hosted her 2nd Annual Secondary Schools Science Quiz and Environmental Awareness Programme on Tuesday May 18th 2010.
The aim of the programme is to educate and broaden the minds of the students in Rivers State to understand the vital need to protect the environment, know more about changes in the environment and the consequences of our daily activities on the climate. The programme also tests knowledge, alertness and encourages a competitive spirit among the students.
This year's programme featured 10 schools from the 3 senatorial districts of the State and they are:
- Federal Government College, Port Harcourt
- Niger Delta Secondary School, Rumuola
- International Secondary School (RSUST)
- University Demonstration Secondary School, Aluu
- Government Secondary School, Elekahia
- Community Secondary School, Ubima
- Community Secondary School, Okoro-Odu
- Abonnema Girls' Secondary School, Abonnema
- Kalabari National College, Buguma
- Birabi Memorial Grammar School, Bori
At the end of a challenging and keenly competed quiz competition, Niger Delta Secondary School, Rumuola emerged as the winner, followed by Government Secondary School, Elekahia , while the 3rd position went to International Secondary School (RSUST).
The event which was attended by the management and staff of Moni Pulo, also had the Commissioner for Environment, Rivers State, Hon. Chindah as a special guest of honour. He was represented by a high level delegation of directors from the state Ministry of Environment. Representatives of RSSDA (Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency) were also in attendance.

MONI PULO AT NOG 10 ( Stand A24 ) - February 22-25, 2010.
The Moni Pulo stand was very popular at the recently concluded Nigerian Oil & Gas Conference in Abuja. Colorfully adorned in the new Moni Pulo corporate colours, logo and life sized images of activities on FPF Agbani; the Moni Pulo stand attracted over 200 hundred visitors including top officials of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), NNPC and dignitaries like Hon. (Prince) Chibudom Nwuche, the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Manned by helpful and technically competent staff, our stand hosted a wide variety of guests, ranging from government officials to top industry operators, who sought in depth information about the company’s current operations.
A three time participant and sponsor of NOG, Moni Pulo was represented at this gathering of the who’s who in the national oil and gas industry by a 6 person team, led by the Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Abiona Usikalu. The four day NOG 10 Conference and Exhibition which was organized by the CWC Group, was declared open by the Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.
