The Chairman/Chief Executive of Moni Pulo Ltd. High Chief (Dr.) O.B. Lulu-Briggs was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the reputable Thisday newspaper.
The award was given in recognition of the Chief's entrepreneurial excellence-special reference was made of Moni Pulo’s position as a foremost indigenous exploration and production company. He was also honoured for his strong and committed nation building efforts over the years, his role as a distinguished elder statesman and unwavering focus on philanthropy, among other accomplishments.
The ceremony took place in Abuja on Sunday, February 21, 2010. In attendance at this 15th edition of the annual Thisday Awards were former President George W. Bush of the United States of America, Condoleeza Rice,Ph.d, former Secretary of State, the United States of America, Mr. Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, former President Kuffour of Ghana, Oluchi-winner of the first Face of Africa competition and a cultural ambassador per excellence, among other international and Nigerian dignitaries.

At a media briefing, a company official said that the new vision was designed to give Moni Pulo the energy and perspective to tackle the next 10 years and beyond.
Independent indigenous player in the oil and gas industry, Moni Pulo Limited, has unveiled a new vision aimed at consolidating the company‘s operations nationally and internationally.
NEW OIL BLOCKS WON
As part of its strategy to build an enduring institution and remain a viable indigenous player in the nation's Oil & Gas industry, Moni Pulo has acquired 3 new oil blocks in a strategy to grow its production to 15,000barrels per day.
According the company’s Deputy Managing Director, Mrs. Solate Ovundah-Akarolo, the new blocks are Oil Prospective Licence (OPL) 239 in Ondo State, OPL 234 in Akwa Ibom State, and OPL 231 in Cross Rivers State.
10TH ANNIVERSARY OF FIRST OIL
Amidst staff, business associates, top government officials and important industry regulatory bodies, Moni Pulo celebrated its 10th anniversary of First Oil on OML 114.
As part of his remarks at the event, the Chairman/CE of Moni Pulo, High Chief ( Dr.) O.B. Lulu-Briggs, OON said that Moni Pulo was driven by the determination that indigenous exploration and production companies could be successful and stand the test of time. He added that from the time Moni Pulo achieved First Oil in March 1999 till date, the company remains focussed on being a reference of excellence in the Oil & Gas industry.
The roll call at this epochal event included eminent personalities like Hon. H. Odein Ajumogobia, Minister of State, Petroleum, Mr. Billy Agha, Director, DPR, Senator Lee Maeba, Hon. Prince Bassey Otu, Mr. Donald Duke and Hon. Justice Adolphus Karibi-Whyte.
