The main thrust of our community relations strategy is developing and maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship, which ensures that communities grow with us.

From the commencement of our first exploratory activities till now, MPL has been proactively involved in the promotion of the socio-economic development of people in its host and ambient communities.

Our approach is one of participatory development, working in partnership with the host communities and, where appropriate, with government, community-based organizations and other stakeholders, in identifying, planning, implementing and monitoring development projects.

MPL’s community development initiatives to empower the people have so far included capital and health care projects, artisan training programs, empowerment programmes, micro credit schemes and annual scholarship awards for students from our host communities at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels.

Recognizing the flexible and dynamic nature of human needs, and by extension, those of our host communities, MPL will always strive in conjunction with the communities, to initiate and execute programs that will make the lives of the people better.
