March 1992 Incorporation of Moni Pulo Limited
May 1992 Company awarded Oil Prospecting License (OPL 230).
April 1995 Received authorization by DPR to commence operations on OPL 230.
March 1996 Technical joint venture arrangement with Brass Exploration Unlimited (Brass), a Nigerian subsidiary of Western Atlas (40%).
July 1997 Established field commerciality.
June 1998 Drilled 9 horizontal producing wells and two water injection wells.
March 1999 Achieved First Oil from Abana field.
June 2000 Conversion of OPL 230 to Oil Mining License (OML 114).
June 2001 Completed two in-fill horizontal wells.
July 2003 Completed drilling of in-fill, Abana 13.
2005 MPL was awarded 4 stars by the British Safety Council in the 5 star Safety Audit – the only Nigerian company to be so far recognised.
April 2005 Drilled 5 in-fill wells in Abana East to apprehend the declining trend of Abana production.
July 2005 Drilled Ekwe-2 and Ekwe-3 to appraise the TP-J discovery.
Sept 2005 Worked over A9 and recompleted as A9 ST.
August 2006 Re-entered CRI and drilled CR-4. Tested them to appraise the Cross River Gas field.
November 2006 Drilled Ekwe 1 deep to explore Ekwe deep prospect.
2007 Successfully acquired three new oil blocks-OPL 239 in Ondo state, OPL 234 in Abia/Akwa Ibom states and OPL 231 in Cross River/Akwa Ibom states.
October 2007 Drilled A12ST & A18ST infill wells.
January 2008 Drilled and completed gas re-injection wells.

Founded and incorporated by High Chief (Dr.) O.B. Lulu-Briggs, OON, DCF in 1992, Moni Pulo Limited (MPL) represents a creative response to the Nigerian government's initiative to promote indigenous participation in the nations' Oil and Gas industry. With its head office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and branch offices in Lagos and London, MPL is a private, fully indigenous Exploration and Production company.
